ELVES AND FOREST ANIMALS

In finish folktales there are many different kinds of elves (tonttu) living in the forests and in the surroundings of farm houses. Such as Sauna elf, which is a little creature that comes to bathe in the sauna after all the people of the house are gone, and when the steam of the sauna is at its' best.

The elves are good friends with all the forest animals. They are shy of people, and are rarely seen. But they will come to play tricks on us to remind us to behave, if we are not nice to animals or the surrounding nature.
